When you are a world famous celebrity, you have all the perks in the world… such as having a dedicated website, social media and PR team working for you at all times. However, when it comes to creating a website or blog, nothing is easier to use than WordPress. In fact, starting a site with WordPress is so easy, that I wouldn’t be surprised if many celebrities had their own little side-project sites on the sides! Well… maybe not, haha.
As content creators and online marketers, keeping an eye on how other people, brands, and businesses are using WordPress and creating content is key. This is especially true with WordPress sites, as it’s always exciting to see how different designers are coming up with new ways to display content or how different plugins are increasing user engagement and social networks.
With all of this in mind, I thought it would be fun to look at some celebrities that are using WordPress to power their sites — while also mixing in a wide variety of simple, fancy, clean and super heavy design work. If you’d like to learn more about how to create a celebrity gossip blog, be sure to check out each of the examples below, then also refer to this celebrity fan blog resource guide.
Let’s get started!
Celebrities with WordPress Driven Sites
As one of the most well-known recording artists and celebrities in the world, it’s no surprise that Ariana Grande has an amazing website to match her music and style. Below you will see a screenshot of her main page, which then opens up to a more in-depth site full of engaging content for her audience of fans.
The website for Stephen Collins site is a perfect example of how a WordPress site can embrace minimalism or be enhanced with advanced custom design features like video and animation. In the case of Stephen’s site, he went with minimalism to great effect — achieving a clean, easy to read and navigate website to highlight his acting career.
From extremely simple, to extremely complex. That is the style of design you will find within Jay Z’s Life and Times site. Once you hit the main page of this site, you will see a number of options to the choose from. The main navigation bar is found near the bottom of the site, with all of the content articles actually appearing within the square icons at the top of the page. Select any of these icons and you will be sent over to the main article or content for each of them.
One of the most respectable actors in the world also has one of the most respectable websites. This clean, yet elegant design allows for fans of Stallone to navigate throughout the site with no questions on where they are headed or what they are going to fine. The style of fonts used throughout the site and the high-quality photos pull it all together and make it one of the most elegant designs on the list.
In addition to being the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt also has a super fast loading website, thanks to it being powered by WordPress. Easy navigation at the top of the screen, with high-quality and engaging photos, gives the site a perfect feel of both professionalism, while also being fun in the process. As you scroll down the site, you will also be able to read individual content pieces, as found with most WordPress driven sites.
If you are going to be the most followed person in social media, you need to have a great looking website to back it up. Katy Perry not only uses WordPress to power her site, she also uses the CMS to its full advantage. Even with the screenshot below, you can tell how interactive and engaging the site content is. Once you visit the site and experience it first hand, you will see images, content and scrolling movement throughout the site. Kudos to the design team that put this one together.
Another perfect example of a celebrity that is using WordPress to match the look and feel on their own personality, is Stephen Fry. Check out the simple components of his site design below, with the usual WordPress components of easy to read content, navigation, titles, dates and image places. At the same time, the use of the custom logo at the top of the page and the fun backgrounds and colors of the site, all come together to represent Stephen Fry at it’s best.
Celebrities Have Great Sites. You Should Too!
As mentioned earlier in this article, WordPress makes the process of creating and managing a website or blog way too easy. Gone are the days of designing a site in one program, then cutting it into HTML in another, and ultimately uploading the files one by one. Now it’s simply a matter of clicking a few buttons and never touching a line of code.
